Juneteenth is a significant celebration marking the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Juneteenth In Detroit 501(c)(3) is a nonprofit organization with a cultural-based intent centered around strengthening our community and families alike. We focus on celebrating and supporting our community through small and large gatherings. Our main Juneteenth celebrations are held through June 12 - June 19. This year (2024) marks our 14th annual festival and our 9th annual parade. We hold the longest running grassroots Juneteenth celebration in Metro Detroit.
